TRIPOD ACCESSORY GUIDE
RRS offers the following tripod accessories that, depending on your requirements, will significantly expand the versatility and convenience of your support system
LEVELING BASES
A leveling base is an articulating mounting platform for the tripod that allows the user to easily level the head and camera without requiring each leg of the tripod to be raised and lowered.
TA-3-LB
- Compatible with RRS Series-3 Versa tripods only.
- Available with a traditional 3/8” mounting stud, or a quick-release clamp option for quickly mounting/releasing the accompanying head
-Ergonomic "under-handed" operating handle and locking mechanism
TA-2U-LB
- Compatible with RRS Series-2 Versa tripods
- Compatible with any non-RRS tripod that features an industry-standard 3/8”-16 mounting stud, by simply screwing down onto the tripod’s platform in the same manner as a traditional head
- Available with a traditional 3/8” mounting stud (PF), or a quick-release clamp option (LC) for quickly mounting/releasing the accompanying head
- Compact “winged” locking ring
QUICK-COLUMNS
A quick-column (or ‘center’-column) is a vertical extension that provides additional height to a tripod. While useful in certain instances, it’s important to remember that a raised column is much more sensitive to wind and vibration and will reduce the overall rigidity of the tripod when in use.
TA-3-QC
- Compatible with RRS Series-3 Versa tripods
- Compatible with RRS Series-4 tripods, when equipped with the TA-4-AA3 adapter

TA-2-QC
- Compatible with RRS Series-2 Versa tripods
FOOT SPIKES/ ROCK CLAWS
Specialized replacement feet, compatible with any RRS carbon-fiber tripod
TA-3-FS FOOT SPIKE
- Useful for sinking into deep, dense material such as ice, topsoil,, and thick clay/mud
TA-3-FRC ROCK CLAW
- Useful for gripping hard, wet, rocky surfaces
QD STRAP SYSTEM
An “over the shoulder” Magpul carry sling for RRS tripods, using secure and intuitive quick-detach strap connection points with one attachment at the apex of the tripod, and the other on the upper tube of the tripod.
MK2 TRIPOD APEX QD MOUNT
Mark II tripods will utilize the QD Mount to make the connection between the Apex of their tripod and their QD strap.
TA-TLC: Series 1,2,3 and 4.
THREADED LEG COLLAR
An accessory collar sized to fit around the upper tube of a Series 4, 3, or 2 tripod; featuring a multi-purpose ¼” thread socket for attaching an RRS BC-18 or BPC-16 micro head, or any proprietary accessory that uses a ¼” stud.
MS4® Magpul Mark 2 QD Sling
The low profile, quick-detach Magpul sling connects to both QD points found on the QD mount and the QD leg collar of your RRS Tripod.
